Langtang Expedition
Country: Nepal
Year: 2008
Description: This expedition was borne of the coordinator, Elaine Anderson’s (ExpEd President 2009/10) desire to go to Nepal and learn more about the people, culture and natural wonders in this amazing country. Having whittled down the dozens of interested students who wanted to join her, to just four other members, and taking the fantastic advice of the lecturers and staff of Edinburgh University and other institutes in Scotland, as well as experts in Nepal the idea for the research was developed.

Torugart-Too
Country: Kyrgyzstan
Year: 2010
Description: The expedition was inspired by a report on Alpinist magazine’s online newswire about an expedition in 2007 to the Torugart-Too mountains in Kyrgyzstan, organised by the International School of Mountaineering and Pat Littlejohn. Further research revealed that a total of four expeditions had visited the area, and that many possibilities remained for first ascents and new routes. The team members (John Proctor, Adam Russell and Robert Taylor) visited the Torugart-Too mountains in July/August 2010 and established three first ascents – Mur Samir (5008m), Pik Karyshkyr (4836m), and Pik False (4801m).
