Description: Madagascar is a biodiversity hotspot with high levels of endemicity. There is to date an inadequate knowledge of the biological and ecological riches it holds. The research investigated species richness, abundance and where possible population density. The taxa included plants, birds and lemurs. The level of disturbance was also investigated. Disturbance includes activities such as zebu and goat grazing; and illegal logging and hunting.
